Ohio emcee/producer, Ill Poetic, has signed a digital
distribution deal with Empire Distribution.
“I’m pretty excited about this opportunity and extremely
thankful to the folks who helped make this happen,” said Ill Poetic. “We’ve
worked our asses off these past few years to present something we feel is very
special. We’re happy and amazed that Empire has hopped on board to make this
vision a very real possibility.”
The Ill Poetic/Empire connection could be very promising, given their separate history in the business. Empire has worked on many projects during recent years,
including, but not limited too, Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80, Snoop Dogg’s Stoner’s EP and Schooloy Q’s Setbacks.
Ill Poetic's resumé also includes many accomplishments. For example, he created 3 mash-up records, gained critical acclaim from elite media outlets and scored an award-winning independent film in “The Enemies You Keep”.

Ill Poetic goes on to Empire to join the company of artists
and producers like Fat Joe, N.O.R.E, 9th Wonder, Too Short, and Slum
Village.
His new EP, Synesthesia: The Yellow Movement, will be
released via Empire on Oct. 16, 2012. Ill Poetic plans to use this EP to push
his career into a fearless new direction with what he describes as “a journey
into the highs and lows of following your dreams; a soundtrack to the imagination.”
